  2. Guild-Wide Discussion Points
    1. Regarding Plagiarism

      1. recently surfaced in EPA, deserves to be addressed by guild
      2. nonsense gave some background info of incident and proposes that it may not be intentional
        1. this is the way it was addressed in EPA - we gave the author opportunity to site sources propoerly
        2. Jake and Stake suggested that we involve ombudsman, and if found guilty, remove them from the guild
        3. FreedomFighter thinks we should ask new writers to submit agreement that this is not plagiarized and hold them accountable using that contractual agreement
        4. Samanthaj wonders if ombudsman has policies in place to deal with this. They’re more conflict resolution.
        5. EthHunter doesn’t remember seeing any sited sources in published works from the WG
          1. Hiro said if you include a hyperlink to your source, it’s siting the source. You’re linking or attributing something to that source. Maybe we need to create a hard policy regarding siting sources.
          2. Nonsense and Frank agree that simple attributing to other sources with simple hyperlinks is sufficient
        6. FreedomFighter gave an example of a test where one 20-30 word sentence from a 1,000 word submission was copied. That’s an example of outright blunt plagiarism.
        7. Tomahawk brought up that it could be just cultural differences. In college, he noticed that International students didn’t have the same training or placed the same importance on plagiarism as American students.
          1. MinaHasNoIdea presented that she is sometimes unsure about what should be sited or not. Is there a list or guide to help writers avoid plagiarism?
        8. Sam wonders if we should have a dedicated board or assembly to determine what plagiarized or not plagiarized. Should newsletter have it’s own board vs EPA or should there be 1 central board that serves the guild?
          1. Nonsense proposed moving that discussion and exploring it more in the governance call.
    2. Best use of project revenue: percentage returned to Guild multisig, or BANK buy-back?

      1. Client Services has been doing well and growing and becoming profitable. CS was sharing revenue with WG treasury and is now sharing with EPA.
      2. It was suggested in another meeting that projects redirect revenue sharing with guild’s treasury and instead buy back BANK with those profits.
      3. FreedomFighter thinks that’s a good idea to make BANK more stable
      4. Samanthaj asked how does this work?
        1. Nonsense answered that the projects would take the profit that it would normally share with the treasury, and instead buys BANK token to deposit in the multi-sig.
      5. Ap0ll0 believes this would prevent us from diversifying our treasury and could ultimately hurt our treasury
      6. AustinFoss wonders if this could be incorporated with Bankless Loans? Any buybacks could go into a no interest loan.
      7. Nonsense is going to set up a thread for us to discuss async throughout the week and we will revisit this on next week’s meeting.
    3. Advent of the Editors Circle and Guild project reorganization

      1. Discussion about instituting a small group of editors to review most, if not all, work in WG and host workshops and training sessions to help new editors
      2. This is what nonsense envisions when he thinks of this concept

      Untitled

    4. Siddhearta and Hiro likes this structure

      1. We can start working this program and build it up for season 4.
