Some common thoughts people have when starting to write and how we think about them.
❌ "My writing isn’t perfect."
✅ Perfection is your enemy. You will not create a perfect post. Don’t let this stop you from the most important part of the exercise: publishing.
This is the mindset we have to crush. We're not being graded on this.
This program is more about the ideas and topics you’re exploring rather than a test of your grammar or writing ability.
❌ “Writing takes too long.”
✅ This is a function of aiming for perfection. When writing, set a time limit and stick to the word count limit. Choose an amount of time you want to spend prior to starting and stick with it.
❌ "I'm not an expert on this topic, what can I offer?"
✅ You don’t have to be an expert to contribute. We’re aiming to create something interesting that will show others that we are knowledgeable, passionate, and interested in a topic.
The deeper and more nuanced that you can dive into your topic the better.
❌ "Who will read this anyway"
