Creating a new private channel

  1. Clone one of the other private channels that has default permissions that you like (you can always customize further) and name it accordingly. In this example, we've create a new Geographies channel.

Adjust the channel permissions

  1. Right click edit channel or click on edit channel from inside the channel.

Add the role that corresponds to the channel that you just created.

  1. Remove roles that are not relevant to the new channel. In this example, other geographies.

  1. Adjust the advanced permissions. Scroll down from the channel permissions.

You need to give the new role, in this case turkey, the following permissions: view channel, send messages and read message history.
