There are many places to get plugged into one of our newsletters. First, let's understand some of the common roles:

Writer: Content Curation

Each of our newsletters has a content curation aspect. Someone who is gathering stories, significant events, blog posts, whatever is relevant to that particular newsletter. This content might come from Discord, Twitter, Medium, or other media channels.

Writer: Editorials

Each of our newsletters features a weekly editorial. Editorials are usually 1500-2000 words, though some may be longer if necessary given the subject matter. Editorials are discussed and chosen each week during the weekly team sync, some are time sensitive, and others are educational or developmental in nature. If you have an idea for an editorial, submit it to the editorial backlog or propose it during the next weekly team sync.

📝 If you would like to write an editorial or have an idea for a piece, use either the Weekly Rollup Editorial backlog or the State of the DAOs Editorial backlog.

Editor

Bankless Publishing distinguishes between two types of editors: content editors and copy editors. Content editing is focused on meaning and is more of a heavy lift: the material is more dense or needs significant work. Copy editing is focused on quality and generally involves proofreading, ensuring the overall readability of the work, and upholding the standards of the BanklessDAO editing framework.

For our newsletters, the editor assumes both roles but much of the work falls more under copy editing.

Here's how those roles fit into each of our newsletters:

Weekly Rollup

A weekly update of everything going on in BanklessDAO; this is a must-read for active contributors in the DAO to learn about current proposals and votes, learning opportunities, member perks, and more. A thoughtful editorial is the main feature of each edition.

Ships weekly on Saturday.
